I have to disagree with some of those points. Firstly, the control panel has absolutely everything i've ever had from anyone else, and in some cases more.
Second, if they are just re-selling Heart internet, then it's them that are to blame for servers not being up 99% of the time, not sniffhost (who incidentally do seem to be up all the time - i've never noticed my site down...)
I agree that they can sometimes take ages to get a response from, but as you rightly point out, you get what you pay for.
At the end of the day, i am paying the cheapest rates on the market, and since it rarely goes wrong, i have nothing to complain about!

Don't use Sniffhost. I made the mistake of moving from Dataflame to Sniffhost this May and they've been nothing but useless.

You get what you pay for as you say and Sniffhost are cheap because:
1) You get ZERO support.
2) Servers are not 99% reliable.
3) Control panel is not very nice and doesn't have all the features you get on most other providers.

Getting anyone to reply to support requests is nigh on impossible. It's just one guy reselling Heart Internet. My website has been down for 7 days now this time and I can't get anyone to reply to my emails to sales, support or through their notorious Support Ticket system.

After just 3 months with Sniffhost I will now be moving again, probably to an American provider as there doesn't seem to be anyone in the UK that is any good who doesn't charge a fortune.

Because, as I said in my first comment here I want to know why mine's not back yet or rather, whether I should expect it to be. If you'd been told a day or two before me that your domain was live again then maybe I should expect to wait a bit longer for mine to come back. However, it sounds like Mike sent us both emails at the same time and so I'll want to know why it took longer with my domain. That's why it was useful :)

Fair enough. Clearly you're not going to give me any information, like when he sent you the email!

Erm, thanks - I was hoping you'd be a bit more specific with when yours was fixed, like when you arranged it with Mike, when it started working again...
