Kahuna Watch Kahuna Watch Kahuna Watch

Recently, my cheap Casio watch which I have had for the last 2 years broke, and I was forced to get a new one. I decided that I wanted to get something a little more fashionable, but didnt really want to lose out on any of the features that I used on my previous watch. After scouring the internet, i came across the KDX 5404G, and after checking the returns policy on the Kahuna Website, I decided to take the gamble, in the knowledge that I could return it if I didnt like it. For a bargainous £29.95 this watch looked excellent value for money in comparison to some other similar style watches.
Since when I was looking I was unable to find any reviews, I thought I’d write a brief review so that others who may be thinking of buying one of these watches may have more of a clue and feel like they were taking less of a gamble!

Trackmania leads free games in a new direction

Saturday, March 25th, 2006

Trackmania NationsThe other day i came across Trackmania Nations, a new free game from Nadeo, the creators of Trackmania and Trackmania Sunrise – two of the greatest racers ever devised. So, after the nearly 300meg download, I gave it a try, and believe me when I tell you that this is the greatest free game ever created. It adds a slightly new dimension to the Trackmania experience as I found myself breaking alot more than is necessary in the other two games, but it maintains the arcade like fun of the original two.

If you have some spare time, but no spare cash, i definately advise downloading this and give it a try. It comes complete with single play levels, as well as lan, internet and hot seat multiplayer! What more could you want! You can even create your own levels. If you do get it, let me know when you’re on and i’ll give you a game :)

Gilbert & Sullivan goes down a treat!

Thursday, March 16th, 2006

Gilbert & Sullivan SocietyIt was the first night of the Gilbert & Sullivan Society production of ‘The Pirates of Penzance’ last night. Overall, it went very well and the reviewers we had in the audience also seemed to think so! For those who don’t know, i’m playing in the part of Major General Stanley, and was very chuffed to get the following review from the Nottingham Evening Post:

Andrew Griffiths is a delight as the Major General and his rendition of the tongue-twisting I Am The Very Model of a Modern Major General is delivered with confidence”

The whole cast performed excellently last night – i hope we can do as well and better in the rest of the performances!

Sony put the ball in Nintendo’s court

Wednesday, March 15th, 2006

Nintendo RevolutionSony have announced that the launch of the Playstation 3 has been delayed till November. Many gamers will see this a blow to their gaming year, but I see it as a potential advantage to Nintendo. As far as i am aware, there is still no official release date for the Revolution apart from being touted for release in the ‘latter part of 2006′. If Nintendo can get the console out before the PS3 they will at least escape the problem of being the last on the market which they had last time around.

I’ve never been a fan of Sony gaming, they churn out the same old stuff over and over again, and while i wouldnt consider myself a Nintendo fanboy, i am a massive fan of Nintendo games and hardware. I personally really cannot wait until the revolution release, and I really hope that they manage to get it out before Sony to give them that extra leg up. Bring on the Nintendo goodness! :)

Stumble Upon random links…

Sunday, March 12th, 2006

Stumble Upon logoI was browsing the web this morning, and what should i stumble upon but Stumble Upon! This cool little toolbar for Firefox is brilliant – if you’re not already using firefox, then for starters, why not and secondly, you may want to get it for this!

Stumble Upon is basically a toolbar that gives you a button which when clicked, links you to a random website that other people have rated, along the lines of various categories that you choose. If you yourself come across an interesting site, you can tag and rate it so that others can come across the site that you found.

I was going to say this toolbar was useful, and great, but the fact of the matter is, you may end up wasting a fair bit of time with some of the sites it links you too!!

Well worth checking out! Get the extension here :)
